Chapter 1 – Only survivor

Hello. My name is Ares. Yes I know that it’s the name of God of War, but I’m not him. I was told that my parents named me after him though. I don’t know much about my parents to tell the truth. I was brought up by Chiron – a very kind centaur. He taught me a lot of things, making me very wise and also an extremely powerful warrior.
So it’s been a couple of days ago when we were returning from Egypt back to our home city – Athens. However there’s been an accident. I don’t remember too well what happened, but I remember that something hit our ship with an enormous power causing it to topple over. I passed out then. Today I woke up in a boat. A kind fisherman by the name of Corythus said that he found me lying on a piece of debris and he thought that I was alive and so saved me. We arrived at the village where he lived. It was called Helos. I went to talk to the man in charge. His name was Diomedes. I asked him how to get back to my home city of Athens. He said that he is glad to help me, but only if I help his village. Apparently a large pack of satyrs had attacked them recently and took over their farm fields. Now they cannot go there and so do not have any food. Diomedes said that if I kill all the satyrs on their fields, then he will tell me how to get to Athens and also will give me some gold for the trip. I accepted the challenge.
